Dear editor:
Recently there was an article in the Cody Enterprise about a Trout Unlimited report regarding roadless areas. In Wyoming where public lands provide habitat for wildlife, offer quality hunting and fishing and outdoor recreation, roadless areas are crucial.
The 2001 Roadless Rule, which protects millions of acres of public lands, is on the chopping block by the USDA and our own Rep. Harriet Hageman is working on legislation to permanently nullify this provision. She said this last week in Sundance. We know she is in favor of selling our public lands even though her constituents are opposed and now she wants to do away with roadless areas.
We all need to remember this when it comes time to vote. A vote for Rep. Hageman is a vote for selling public lands and eliminating roadless areas.
