A Powell woman is taking the next step to assist the people of her hometown by adding a downtown office to an already successful business she’s run in town since 2022.
Jennifer McConnell recently opened a new Guild Mortgage office on South Bent Street to be able to better assist clients in the industry she has been in successfully for the past 13 years.
“I have been working from a small home office since 2022 here in Powell,” she said. “This move to a new location is expanding and opening the doors for more of a presence in downtown Powell.”
McConnell’s roots in Powell run deep. Her family was early settlers in the area and played an active role in shaping the community — she’s even related to the first baby born in Powell. Her family built the local drive‑in theater in the 1940s when it was originally “Paul’s Drive In Theater.” Although Jennifer didn’t grow up full‑time in Powell, she said the town was always home.
She moved with her family to Powell in 2010 and lived here most of the decade, working for First Bank of Wyoming and later for Guild Mortgage. After leaving town for a few years she was back in 2022. One daughter now attends middle school while the other is in high school.
With the opening of her local office, McConnell’s goal is to offer strong, face‑to‑face relationships with clients and local real estate agents. She said she values personal connection and believes being present and accessible makes a meaningful difference during one of the most important financial decisions a family can make.
As a residential mortgage lender, Jennifer specializes in tailoring loans to meet each borrower’s unique situation. She offers a wide range of lending options, including Conventional, FHA, USDA, VA, Down Payment Assistance, Manufactured Home Loans, Flex Payment Mortgages for clients over 62, Renovation Loans, Construction Loans, Doctor Programs, and more. She also works closely with clients facing credit challenges, helping them create a clear game plan toward homeownership. Whether assisting with a primary residence, second home, or investment property, McConnell said she is passionate about helping families build their future in Powell.
A ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the new office will include food, beverages and swag at 143 S. Bent St. Unit B from 4-6 p.m. Feb. 12.
