CODY — The Cody Library will host a series of bird-focused programs beginning in November, made possible through a grant from Flight Path, a campaign within the Spark of Science @ My Library initiative. The grant provides libraries with tools and materials to offer educational events that promote understanding of bird migration, local bird species and community science exploration.
The first event in the series will take place on Friday, Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. in Grizzly Hall.
Zach Hutchinson from Audubon Rockies will present “Feeding Winter Birds,” covering bird-friendly feeding practices during the colder months. Audubon Rockies is the regional office of the National Audubon Society for Colorado, Wyoming and Utah, using science, outreach, and policy to address key challenges facing birds across the region.
Following Hutchinson’s presentation, Susan Hovde of Red Lodge will share her backyard bird feeder setup and offer tips on how to safely place feeders in areas where bears may be present. Door prizes will be available. This program is free and open to the public. For more information, please call the Cody Library at 307-527-1880 or visit parkcountylibrary.org.
