Park County voters wanting to see where the Republican candidates for the Wyoming governorship and Park County Commission stand on issues should mark their calendars for Monday.GOP candidates for the positions will mix it up in two separate events at Cody's Holiday Inn.
From noon to 2 p.m., GOP gubernatorial candidates will hash it out in a debate hosted by the Park County Republican Party.
Candidates Alan Kousoulos, Matt Mead, Ron Micheli and Colin Simpson plan to attend, said County Republican Party Chairwoman Geri Hockhalter. Hockhalter said candidate Rita Meyer will be working and unable to make the debate, while lesser-known candidates John Self and Tom Ubben “said no.”
Starting at 6 p.m., the Park County Republican Women will host a forum for GOP candidates for the Park County Commission.
A dozen Republican candidates are contending for three open seats on the commission — Bill Brewer, Ted Davey, Tim French, Vicki Gibson, Karla Dee Gitlitz, Loren Grosskopf, Chad Miner, Fred Reynolds, Jill Shockley Siggins, Joe Tilden, A.M. “Hank” Whitelock and Bill Yetter.
Nine candidates have confirmed they will participate, two are maybes and one likely will not make it, said Echo Renner, Park County Republican Women Vice President.
