The Good Old Boys are officially back in action, as the weekly men’s golf group returned to the Powell Golf Club on Tuesday, May 19.
The game for the first week of action was Six Six Six. The group split into four-man teams and kept one low net ball on holes one through six, two net balls on seven through 12 and three low net balls on 13-18.
Taking first place with a score of 133 were Thom Seliga, Mike Hernandez, Larry Hedderman and Buddy Rae. There was a three-way tie for second at 135 with the teams of Kevin Lineback, Clark Jeffs, Ray Nelson and Dennis McCollum; Stephen Burtoft, Tom Bibbey, Jerry Linsdau and, Bob Mason; and Lloyd Snyder and Marc Saylor, with a blind draw of Seliga and Hernandez.
Rounding out the field with a 141 were Jim Tobin, Bob Parsons, Dave Frost and John Chase.
McCollum had the only deuce of the day. The low gross score went to Hernandez, who shot an 81. The low net was a tie at 71 between Jeffs and McCollum.
