Florence ‘Flo’ Irene (Tucker) Barre

Florence “Flo” Irene (Tucker) Barre of Milton, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012 at West Florida Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer. She was 78.

She was born May 19, 1933 in Powell, daughter of the late Pearl Ruth (Workman) and Lowell Keith Tucker. Having also lived in Georgia and Connecticut, she lived the remaining 52 years of her life in Milton, Fla.

She was motherly to more than just her own family and a true friend to many. She will be missed.

She is survived by her sister Karen Swain of Warner Robins, Ga.; three daughters, Michele (Dennis) Treadway and Andrea Ellis, both of Pensacola, Fla., Kelly (Mike) Townson of Milton, Fla.; two sons, Chris Barre of Gulf Breeze and Kevin (Aleksi) Barre of Big Sky, Mont.; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald H. Barre.

Memorial services were held Saturday, Jan.  21 at the Chapel of National Cremation and Burial Society in Milton, Fla.
