February might be the shortest month but here at Park County libraries, we are staying busy. The Powell Library has a full calendar of fun activities for all.
Winter Reading is in full swing throughout the month with last day to enter Feb. 28. Just finish a book and complete an entry slip to be entered into a chance to win a fun prize. The more you read the more chances to win.
The Powell Library is also once again planning for its second trade fair. The fair will take place on Saturday, March 28 and the library is actively looking for vendors in the skilled trades to be involved. If interested in participating, please contact Breanne at the Powell Library.
The Powell Library is once again hosting a Craft Supply Swap on Monday, Feb. 9 from 4-7 p.m.
On Tuesday, Feb. 10 at noon, join us for Lunch & Learn: Genealogy & Informational Hour. Bring your lunch and learn how to get started researching your family history.
Join us, Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m., for Pressure Canning: Hands-on How To, and get hands-on experience from Denise Laursen.
Join us on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 6 p.m., as Ted Smith from UW Extension, discusses how to Start a Garden Inside.
Powell Library is offering Family History Friday on Feb. 27. Signups required.
Teens join us for Teen Crafternoon on Friday, Feb. 6, 1-3 p.m. to bedazzle your favorite book. On Friday, Feb. 13 from 1-3 p.m. come to the library and join us for All Ages Crafternoon to make Woven Danish Hearts. On Friday, Feb. 20 from 1-3 p.m. ages 10-and-up can make little monsters.
Grab your Altered Book Club kit after Feb. 11 and create a book Kusudama Flowers.
Join us for Adult Craft Night on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. to make a Family Celebration Board. Adult Craft Night will be at the Powell Elks Lodge at 581 Clark St.
Tuesday Afternoon Book Discussion meets on Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. where we will be discussing “The Last One at the Wedding,” by Jason Rekulak. The evening book discussion will be meet on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. to discuss “The History of Love,” by Nicole Krauss.
The library is offering Tech Tuesday; sign up for a one-on-one session with Park County Library IT who can help you with your device problems. Tech Tuesday will be on Feb. 17, sign ups required.
Powell Library is offering Homeschool Hour on Thursday, Feb. 5 and 19 from 2-3 p.m., for ages K-12.
Bring the kids to the Powell Library for our wonderful children’s programming. We are offering Sensory Playtime for Toddlers on Monday, Feb. 9 at 10:30 a.m. Toddler Time is every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Join us every Wednesday for Storytime at 1:30 pm. Join us for kids craft for children 8 years and up on Friday, Feb. 27, 1-3 p.m. to Design Your Own Maze. Parents remember we have Early Literacy Kits as well as tonies for checkout. Also sign up your child for 1000 Books before Kindergarten. Make sure and check out the new book at the Storywalk at Homesteader Park. This month’s story is “Katy and the Big Snow” by Virginia Lee Burton.
All Park County Libraries will be closed Monday, Feb. 16 in observance of Presidents Day.
