Winter Reading is happening at all Park County libraries through Feb. 28. There’s no better way to enjoy winter then by curling up with a good book from the library, and entering into a chance to win a prize for every book you read.

Powell Library is hosting its first ever Trades Fair on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Park County Fairgrounds. Come learn about various trades as professionals in skilled trades showcase their field through fun, interactive methods. This event is free to attend.

The Powell Library will be hosting its first ever Craft Swap on Tuesday, Feb. 4 from 4-7 p.m. Bring in your unused craft supplies and pick up some new supplies to take home.

Join us on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 6 p.m. At Heart Mountain Hall to learn to make sushi from Heart Mountain Japan Outreach Initiative Coordinator Haruka Takaku. Space is limited so sign-ups are required.

Are you interested in exploring your family history? Then sign up for Family History Friday starting at 9 a.m. on Feb. 14.

Start a Garden Indoors, hosted by Ted Smith, the Park County Extension horticulturist, at 6 p.m. at the Powell Library, Tuesday, Feb. 18. All those who attend can enter a chance to win their own Indoor Garden Starter Kit.

Come to the library from 1-3 p.m. on Feb. 14 to make Love Monsters. This fun craft is for adults, kids and families.

Craft time for ages 10 and up will be 1-3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21. Join us and make Watercolor Tiles.

Powell Library is offering three different book discussions for all your literary tastes; all book discussions meet at the Homesteader Hall meeting room. The Tuesday Afternoon Book Discussion will meet at 2 p.m. on Feb. 11 where we will be discussing “Book Lovers” by Emily Henry. Join us for Fiction to Film Book Discussion at 6 p.m.on Thursday, Feb. 13 to discuss “The Count of Monte Cristo” by Alexandre Dumas.

The Tuesday evening book group will meet at 6 p.m. on Feb. 25 and will discuss “The Broken Girls” by Simone St. James Join us for Adult Craft Night at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20  to make your own dreamcatcher or suncatcher. Adult Craft Night will be at the Powell Elks Lodge at 581 Clark St.

Powell Library is offering Tech Tuesday, sign up for a one on one session with Park County Library IT who can help you with your device problems. Tech Tuesday will be on Feb. 18, sign ups required.

Grab your Altered Book Club kit after Feb. 12 and create a bouquet of roses.

Teens come to the library on Friday, Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. for Nintendo Switch Game Day.

Bring the kids to the Powell Library for our wonderful children’s programming. We will have Baby/Toddler Time every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Join us every Wednesday for Storytime at 10:30 am. Sign up to Read to a Dog on Tuesday, Feb. 11 and Thursday, Feb. 20 from 3-4:15 p.m. Join us for Board Game Afternoon on Friday, Feb. 7 for ages 10 and up at 1 p.m. Parents, remember we have Early Literacy Kits as well as tonies® for checkout. Also sign up your child for 1000 Books before Kindergarten. Make sure and check out the new book at the StoryWalk at Homesteader Park. This month’s story is Hug Machine.

Remember Powell Library has new hours. We open at 8 a.m. Monday thru Thursday. All Park County Libraries will be closed Monday, Feb. 17 for Presidents Day.
