Emilio Lopez Flores, 84, passed away at his home in Worland, Wyoming, on Sept. 23, 2026 with his wife, Janna by his side.
He was born in San Miguel Ciudad Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Andrea Lopez and Canuto Flores on Oct. 10, 1941.
On April 28, 1967 he proudly became a citizen of the United States and moved across the border.
He worked farming jobs up the west coast, eventually making his way to Emblem, Wyoming, and worked for a potato farm in Powell.
It was in Powell that he met Janna Lanik in 1975. The two married on May 19, 1980. To this union were born Gen, James Lanik, Nick, Andrea and Emilio.
They all moved to Worland in 1984. He worked on several farms and worked campaign at the sugar factory for several years.
Emilio was preceded in death by his parents, Andrea (Lopez) & Canuto Flores; his sisters, Alicia and Hermania Flores.
He is survived by his wife Janna; children, Gen (Mike) Gerber, James, Nick (Carli), Andrea and Emilio Jr; siblings, Canuto (Aracali) Flores, Yolanda (Manuel) Siquero, Ofelia Flores, Manuel (Narci) Flores, David (Gloria) Flores, Hilda (David) Ramos and Crispin (Elva) Flores; grandchildren: Michael and Wesley Gerber, Clarissa and Corbin Lanik, Alexys Flores and three great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at the Worland Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Oct. 9, 2026, at 2 p.m., followed by a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to plant a tree or flowers wherever you live in Emilio’s memory. As a farmer, Emilio loved watching the earth come to life and seeing new growth.
