Funeral Mass for Elizabeth M. Lohrenz, 84, was celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 20 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Billings, Mont.
She died peacefully Saturday morning, Sept. 17 at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Billings, where she had been a resident for the past several years.
Born May 1,1921, in Deaver, she moved to Billings after graduating from high school to attend beauty college. After graduation, she worked at the Northern Hotel until she married Victor Lohrenz on Nov. 14, 1946. Once married, she stayed at home and cared for her children
She later went to work at St. Vincent’s Hospital until she retired and then continued to serve as a Pink Lady volunteer for several years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church for over 60 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandy (Shawn) Bettise of Billings; four sons, Terry (Joyce) of Fishtail, Mont.; Tom (Judy) of South Jordan, Utah; Dick (Holly) of Billings; and Don (Kim) of Billings; 15 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Theresa (Bob) Ewen of Billings and Virginia (Harvey) Henry of Farmington, N.M.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by Victor, her husband of over 50 years; her mother and father, Triphon and Marie Wambeke; two sisters, Marie and Katherine; and two brothers, Tom and Emiel.
Elizabeth will be remembered for her ready smile and sense of humor.
