Eldora Haney, 89, formerly of Frannie, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 in Billings. She was the oldest daughter of Frank and Maggie (Hutto) Madsen, born Feb. 18, 1922 at her grandfather’s ranch on Blue Water Creek, near Bridger. She moved with her family to Frannie in 1928, where she lived the majority of her life.

Eldora received schooling in the Deaver-Frannie school system and graduated from high school in 1940. On Oct. 7, 1942, Eldora married the love of her life, Orville Haney. As a young couple they ventured into the small businesses that a small town had to offer. They operated the café and for some time ran the Conoco Service Station.  Eldora and Orville at one time owned and operated the bar in Frannie, Eldora retiring in 1983. Eldora and Orville retired to the easy life, wintering in the South and returning to Wyoming in the summer months, enjoying the best of both worlds.

An Eastern Star member, Eldora was the past matron of Bethany Chapter 33 and a member of Radiant Chapter 34 of Lovell and Alcyone Chapter 27 of Powell.

Survivors include her sister Laurine Britton; nephews Orville (Norma) Britton, Don (Sherry) Britton, Ken (Jan) Britton, Bill Britton and David (Terry) Haney as well as several great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Orville Haney, brother in-law Gene Britton, a niece, Phyllis and nephews Terry Lee and Marty Haney. A memorial service for Eldora and Orville Haney will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Frannie Town Hall.
