Elaine Yvette Abrams Gurrola died peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, in Byron, surrounded by her family. She was 47.
Elaine was born Feb. 7, 1963 in Tampa, Fla., to James Abrams and Elaine Smith.
She married Elias G. Gurrola in February 1980, and the couple made their home in Byron.
Elaine attended the Catholic church and enjoyed gardening and listening to country music.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elaine Smith; son, Angel Abrams; grandson, Justin Hetland; and daughter, Dalia Gurrola.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Elias; father, James Abrams; foster parents Louise and Mac McClammas; sons Alex Abrams, Angel (Tori) Abrams, Marcos, Elias Jr., Miguel, Daniel and Josh; daughters Maria (Arthur) Aagard, Laura (Skyler) Hetland; Lucia (Cory) Berisko, Elizabeth, Isabel, Raquel and Belen; brother Jimmy; sisters Betty, Juanita and Barbara; and eight grandchildren.
Vigil services and a Rosary were held at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Powell on Monday, Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial takes place on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 10:30 a.m. There will be a visitation at Thompson Funeral Home before the funeral Mass from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
