Heading into Easter weekend Powell’s churches will be holding services and activities. Below is service information provided to the Tribune by press time.

Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church will have a Good Friday Service at 6:30 p.m., there will be  a free Easter Sunday breakfast from 9-10:15 a.m. followed by Easter Service at 10:45 a.m.

Trinity Bible Church will have morning service at 10:30 a.m. and evening service at 4 p.m. on Sunday.

First Southern Baptist Church will have a Sunrise Service Sunday at 6:45 a.m. with a light continental breakfast to follow. Bible study for all ages will be at 10 a.m. and worship service at 11 a.m. with children’s church  for preschool through first grade.

Hope Lutheran Church will have Maundy Thursday worship at 6:30 p.m. with Holy Communion on Thursday. On Friday Hope Lutheran will have Good Friday Worship at 6:30 p.m. Sunday will begin with Easter breakfast at 8:15 a.m. and Easter Sunday Worship at 9:30 a.m.

Union Presbyterian Church in Powell will have a combined Tenebrae Service with Powell United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. Friday in the Union Presbyterian Church. There will be Resurrection Sunday Worship at 10 a.m.

Deaver United Methodist Church will have Resurrection Sunday Worship at 9 a.m.

Powell United Methodist Church will have a combined Maundy Thursday and Communion at 7 p.m. at Powell United Methodist. There will be a Resurrection Sunday Worship at 11 a.m.

Lovell United Methodist Church will have a Maundy Thursday and Communion at 5 p.m. and a Tenebrae service at 5 p.m. on Friday. The Resurrection Sunday Worship will be at 9 a.m.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will have services throughout the day for its five wards. Powell’s first ward will have service at 11 a.m. in the Avenue E building. The second ward will have service at 9 a.m. in the 7th Street building. Powell’s third ward will have service at 9 a.m. in the Avenue E building. The fourth ward will have service at 10:30 a.m. in the 7th Street building. The Heart Mountain Young Single Adult Ward will have service at noon in the 7th Street Building.

Garland Community Church of God will have Seder dinner Thursday at 6 p.m. On Friday there will be a Gospel Reading and Prayer Service at noon. Sunday, there will be an informal Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. followed by Easter breakfast 9 a.m. and worship service at 10:30 a.m.

New Life Church will have a Special Theology Thursday at 10 a.m. featuring Ray Vander Laan’s ‘Our Way of Hope’ video. Friday at 6:30 p.m. there will be a Good Friday Service. Sunday there will be an Easter Morning Worship Service and communion at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., for all services nursery is available for children ages 0-4. 

Grace Point will have a Good Friday Service at 6 p.m. and Easter Sunday Service at 10:30 a.m.
