Funeral services for Earl F. Edwards, 78, will be Monday, April 15, 2 p.m. at the Mortimore Funeral Home chapel in Thermopolis. Burial will follow at Monument Hill Cemetery in Thermopolis. Earl died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at West Park Hospital in Cody.

Earl was born Sept. 18, 1935 to Clifford and Mable (Record) Edwards in Casper. He worked building and road construction at an early age, and entered the Navy in February 1955. He completed several naval and correspondence schools and specialized in RTS, master radio & TV, digital techniques, aviation and electrical/electrician skills in electrical engineering.

He married Vesta M. Fare on June 9, 1957 in Worland.

Earl was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1966 and worked for Foster Electric in Thermopolis until 1968. He then worked for Earl’s Service in Worland until 1983. He provided appliance service for Gambles, Sears and Westinghouse and worked for Clay’s Electric in Powell during which time he attained his journey electrical license and Montana master electrical license. From 1985-1999 he was employed with Marathon Oil Company in Byron and the Oregon Basin as an electrician one. In 2000, he went to work for Washakie Electric of Worland, during which time he attained his Wyoming master electrical license in 2007.

He was a member of the VFW, NRA and Morgan Horse Association. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, camping, computers and wildlife.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife; two sons Donnie of Cody and Doug of Casper; daughter, Doreen (Steve) Calvert of Lander; grandson, Danny; and one brother.
