A woman accidentally crashed into a neighbor’s porch on Friday evening, police said, resulting in damage to the structure and her vehicle.
The incident occurred around 7 p.m. in the 600 block of North Bent Street.
The older woman was backing up in a black Ford truck when she accelerated into the porch, said Powell Police Chief Jim Rhea.
No one was injured in the incident.
The chief said it appeared to have been a case of operator error, adding that the driver displayed some signs of confusion. The woman, who police did not name, was issued a citation for careless driving.
The crash marked the third time in just over a week that drivers have collided with structures in Powell: A woman crashed through the back of the Powell Liquor Market on March 13 and a man hit the corner of Blair’s Super Market on March 14. Those cases differed in that both of those drivers were suspected of having been under the influence of alcohol.
