For the first time, the general public is being invited to see Western Pyro Enterprises’ fireworks demonstration as part of a safe, exciting night of fun.
The free event is scheduled from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday at the business’ warehouse, located just east of Garland on the Byron/Lovell highway (U.S. Highway 14-A).
“Given everything that’s been going on recently, we wanted to do something to involve the community. We thought it would be a good, safe thing that you can just enjoy from your car,” said company spokesperson Ashley Good.
Western Pyro, a consumer fireworks and import company east of Powell, is owned by Chris and Miria Good. The Goods also own Pyrotech Professionals — the area’s largest display fireworks company and the home of Cowboy Brand, its own line of fireworks — and own and operate Quality Propane in Powell.
Those in attendance will see a demonstration of consumer fireworks first, then a professional-level display. Western Pyro Enterprises does many local celebrations, including Cody’s Independence Day celebration. The folks from Vali Twin Cinema, in Powell, will be on hand to sell concessions car-to-car (cash sales only).
The show is usually reserved for the company’s large customers.
“It’s a time when our customers get together and we get to meet with them face to face and we demonstrate most of the products that we sell,” Ashley Good explained.
Those planning to attend are being asked to reserve a spot so the company knows how many vehicles to expect, but it’s still a “first come, first served” event. Reservations can be made on the company’s Facebook page. Ashley Good suggests getting there early, as more than 250 vehicles have already registered for the event.
