Heather Dillon was recently awarded a Program for Continuing Education (PCE) Grant from the P.E.O. Sisterhood, sponsored by P.E.O. Chapter P of Powell.
The PCE grant was established in 1973 to provide need-based grants to women in the U.S. and Canada, whose education has been interrupted, to return to school to complete a degree that will improve their skills for professional employment to support themselves and/or their families.
Dillon is concurrently pursuing an A.D.N. at Northwest College and a B.S.N. at Boise State University. A longtime resident of Powell and mother of two, Dillon has been serving the local community for a number of years as a CNA. Dillon is confident her years of hands-on health care work will serve her future nursing career well.
Chapter P has been part of the Powell community since it was organized in 1926.
P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) has been motivating, educating and celebrating women for more than 155 years. Since its inception in 1869, the nonprofit organization has helped more than 129,000 women pursue educational goals by providing approximately $462 million in grants, scholarships and loans. Through membership, the P.E.O. Sisterhood has brought together more than half a million women in the United States and Canada who are passionate about helping women advance through education. Additionally, the P.E.O. Sisterhood provides a framework of support and community for all of its members. To learn more about P.E.O., please visit peointernational.org.
Dillon currently is scheduled to graduate from Northwest with her A.D.N. in December of 2026 and from Boise State with her B.S.N. in the spring of 2027.
