The Wyoming Coaches Association announced the 2015 Class 3A All-Conference and All-State soccer teams Wednesday, and Powell High School’s Delaney Dent and Trey Ouellette earned selections to both teams.

Both PHS teams compete in the Northwest quadrant of the 3A West Conference.

Dent, a recent Powell graduate, was used primarily on defense for the Lady Panthers, who finished 7-12 this season and made an appearance at the Class 3A State Soccer Tournament in Jackson Hole. While there are no defensive stats to gauge Dent’s contributions to the team, her head coach, Jack Haire, said the season would’ve gone much differently had Dent not been on the field.

“We would have given up so many more goals without her,” he said. “She is a true defensive player; a smart player.”

Ouellette, a junior forward and team captain for the PHS boys, led the Panthers with nine goals scored, 71 shots taken and 57 shots on goal. He also had a team-high five assists. Despite PHS’ 6-13 record, Ouellette helped the Panthers post a 2-1-0-1 record in the Northwest quadrant and reach the state tournament.

“He’s not just a leader on the field, but in the locker room, on the bus and in the off-season,” Powell boys head coach Travis Rapp said. “Trey is humble and always looking for ways he can not only improve himself, but improve his team around him.

“He isn’t worried about stats, he’s worried about wins and what he can do to make his teammates better.”
