A Worland contractor will soon begin work to repave a portion of U.S. Highway 14/16/20 between Greybull and Cody.
The paving portion of the 5.6-mile highway preservation project is slated to begin in early May. However, if the weather allows, prime contractor McGarvin-Moberly Construction Co. will start the job on Friday by removing delineator posts and stripping topsoil from the highway shoulders.
“Delays will be minimal until paving begins,” said Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer Michael Miller of Basin. Once paving begins, motorists should expect traffic delays of up to 20 minutes.
The project is located about 10 miles west of Greybull and passes through the Emblem area (mileposts 87.79 to 93.75). The $2.3 million project will include grading, asphalt paving, chip sealing and other work.
Contract completion date is June 30.
