Adam Craw describes his performances using words like contemplative and emotive — he’s a crooner.
The Lovell High School math teacher will be playing the Pepsi Free Stage for the first time at the upcoming Park County Fair. During his performances audiences can expect to hear music from the 1960s and 1990s as well as his own music which describes as folk rock.
Craw adjusts to the event but typically his performance is made up of roughly two thirds covers and one third original music, he said.
“The stuff I have out that I’m playing right now is folk rock, John Denver, country influence — I was in Nashville for a couple years, and so I’ve been writing some country type songs,” Craw said. “But I’m pretty varied, just in my influences and styles. I don’t know if I really have a genre pinned down.”
Craw was in Nashville to learn sound engineering, he said, and during his time there he also worked on songwriting, played some gigs around town and recorded some music. Those interested in listening to Craw’s music can find it “anywhere,” he said. It’s available on YouTube, Spotify and iTunes under Adam Craw. He first started playing live shows around a decade ago beginning in high school and college talent shows.
“It’s something I always want to do as long as I can,” Craw said.
Audiences can catch Craw at 7 p.m. on Friday and at 5 p.m. Saturday on the Pepsi Free Stage.
