The Wyoming Cowboys will host the Boise State Broncos on Saturday at War Memorial Stadium in what will be the regular-season finale for both teams. Saturday’s game is scheduled to kick off at 4 p.m. Over the past four seasons, the Cowboys and Broncos have played three games decided by 10 points or less.
Wyoming enters the game with a 2-3 record, while Boise State is 4-1. The Broncos have been receiving votes in the national polls, tying for 31st in this week’s Associated Press poll and ranking No. 34 in the Amway Coaches’ Poll.
Wyoming won the teams’ 2016 meeting on a late safety, 30-28, while the Broncos captured a 24-14 home win in 2017 and won in Laramie by a score of 34-14 in 2018.
Last year, the Pokes traveled to Boise and held a 17-10 lead heading into the fourth quarter, but Boise State tied the game with 5:37 remaining. In overtime, the Broncos made a 28-yard field goal and Wyoming missed a 37-yard attempt for a 20-17 loss.
The Wyoming Cowboys currently hold a nine-game home winning streak. That ranks the Cowboys among the Top 10 longest current streaks among all 130 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) teams. Boise State, however, will bring a five-game road winning streak to Laramie.
A limited number of fans will be allowed at War Memorial Stadium as part of COVID-19 precautions; tickets sales stopped at noon on Tuesday. Then, starting Sunday and continuing through Jan. 8, no fans will be allowed at UW athletic events.
“The changes in UW Athletics ticketing policies are being made to coincide with the new public health orders issued this week by the governor’s office to help slow the spread of COVID-19, ease the pressure on Wyoming’s healthcare system and preserve the viability of the state’s economy,” UW officials said in a news release.
Saturday’s game will be broadcast on radio over the Cowboy Sports Network, beginning with the pregame show at 2:30 p.m. The game will also be televised live on CBS Sports Network.
