CODY — A new era is beginning for one of Cody’s most historic landmarks. Cassie’s Supper Club, first opened in 1933 by the legendary Cassie Waters, is officially under new local ownership and will move forward under the new name: Cassie’s Steakhouse with Cassie’s Saloon.
According to a release, the restaurant, originally opened as a lively dance hall and bar during the repeal of Prohibition, became a beloved gathering place known for its warm atmosphere, hand-cut steaks, live music and nights of country dancing. For decades, it has held a special place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike — a symbol of community, tradition, and Wyoming hospitality.
The new ownership team — Jon Bjornestad, Seth Cozzens, Mike Jones, and Brian and Jen Walker — is committed to restoring Cassie’s to its former glory while investing in its future.
“It was sad to see the way it ended for such an iconic location and the impact it had in our community,” Jones said. “Our plan is to focus on what it was — from the music to the dancing to the steak — and bring that spirit back to life.”
For the first time in its history, Cassie’s will fully utilize its liquor license, expanding its offerings and experience for customers. Cassie’s Saloon (and liquor store) will open in November 2025, followed by the grand reopening of Cassie’s Steakhouse with live music and dancing in late spring 2026.
The team’s vision is to create a place that locals are proud of and visitors can’t wait to experience — honoring the past while writing a new chapter in Cody’s history.
