Cody Regional Health physicians, leaders and clinicians gathered Friday to recognize the Cody Wound Care Center, which received the Center of Distinction award from Healogics.
The Cody Wound Care Center earned the recognition by achieving “outstanding” clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction rates higher than 92% and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 92% within 28 median days to heal. Of the 555 centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award, 278 achieved the honor.
“We are so proud of our wound care team and their efforts. Wound treatment can be difficult, and it’s vital our patients see positive outcomes to get back to their lives,” said CRH Chief Ambulatory Officer Andrea McKay.
The Cody facility is a member of the Healogics network, which encompasses more than 600 Wound Care Centers. It offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.
Treatments offered at the Cody center include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies. The center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which surrounds patients with 100% oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound.
Patients do not need a referral from a physician to receive treatment at the Cody facility.
“Our team is here,” said CRH Wound Care Center Director Roxanne Trimble, “and we offer the best wound treatment available.”
