Cody Regional Health’s CEO was honored recently for his successes in the industry. Beckers Hospital Review recently named the 80 Rural Hospital Leaders to Know for 2023 and Doug McMillan, head of the Cody hospital, was among those listed.
Rural hospitals are critical to the success of the U.S. health care system to expand access to care in remote areas. CEOs at the helm of these important community institutions have many responsibilities to make sure their hospitals thrive.
The executives featured on this list have put their heart and soul into ensuring their communities have access to the best health care services possible. While rural hospitals across the country have faced closure in recent years, these leaders have developed a model for not only surviving, but thriving.
McMillan has been with CRH for nearly 30 years and has been a rural hospital CEO for nearly 40 years. The health system’s leadership team received the American Hospital Association Rural Health Leadership team award in 2020. In part due to his efforts, CRH achieved outstanding clinical outcomes including patient satisfaction rates of more than 92% and a wound healing rate of at least 92% within 28 median days to heal.
