Cody Nite Rodeo slated for June 20 start date

Posted

After getting a green light from state health officials over the weekend, Cody Nite Rodeo leaders have announced that they are tentatively planning to start the nightly rodeos on Saturday, June 20.

Up to 600 spectators per night will be allowed under the exception approved by State Health Officer Dr. Alexia Harrist — which is above the current 250-person cap on outdoor gatherings.

“We highly recommend getting your tickets in advance due to a limited capacity we have in place to help combat the COVID-19 virus,”  Stampede leaders said in a Tuesday morning announcement on Facebook. “The Cody Stampede Board is committed to hosting another great season of rodeo with the highest level of health and safety possible.”

Meanwhile, tickets for the Cody Stampede Rodeo and Xtreme Bulls event remain on hold. Stampede leaders said they’re working with state officials and the PRCA on hosting a Fourth of July celebration, though they’ve said it could look different from past years.

“Again, please be patient with us,” the Stampede said on Facebook.
