The Cody Country Art League has released its fall schedule. The league is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. There is no Open Studio at this time.

September

Painting with Wool with Linda Sudduth, Saturday, Sept. 30, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Learn needle felting techniques with wool/alpaca fiber on felted “canvas” with attention to composition, color use, blending etc. Supplies included. Cost is $90 ($81 members). No experience required. 

October

Fern’s Anything Goes Watercolor Class — Series of four classes — or sign up for any of them individually, Wednesdays Oct. 4, 11, 18 and 25, 9-11 a.m. 

This fun, laid back class is brought to you by Fern Bath and is for ALL abilities. She teaches you something new in each session. You will learn how to paint all different kinds of things, as she shares tips and tricks she’s learned over the years to execute beautiful flowers, trees, scenes and wildlife. Materials and supplies provided. Cost is $35 ($31.50 members) each session or $126 ($110 members) for all four. 

Create Captivating Cows in Paint! with Ginny Butcher, Saturday, Oct. 7, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Beginner to advanced painters 15 years old and up welcome. Ginny will demonstrate the block-in process step by step, discuss color choices, references, goals and composition. Students will aim to do three or more block-ins of their own before lunch. After lunch, Ginny will do another demonstrations and students will choose one of their block-ins to finish. Oil, acrylic, pastel and  gouache. Cost is $110 ($99 members).

Intro to Ink Painting with Carrie Kohles. In this introductory class, students will learn how to use Chinese Ink and Sumi-e (bamboo) brushes to create paintings on watercolor paper. Ink, brushes and watercolor paper will be provided. Students welcome to bring other papers to experiment. Cost is $50 ($45 members).

Introduction to Scratchboard with Barbara Rountree, Saturday, Oct. 21, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Find out how to use scratchboard as your new medium! Just like drawing, but with scratch knives. You’ll learn how to transfer images, finish techniques and even correction techniques. Cost is $45 ($40.50 members) plus $20 materials fee.
