Special guests for the Clark Rodeo and parade Saturday, June 21 will include American Legion Post 84 from Belfry, Montana, and champion rider Princess Brooke Morgan from the 2024-25 Home of Champions Rodeo in Red Lodge, Montana.
The parade will begin at 9 a.m.; the rodeo at 11 following the National Anthem and an invocation. Nine-year-old Morgan will carry the U.S. flag aboard her horse, Dakota, as part of the opening rodeo ceremony. Post 84 will present the colors in the parade, which has the theme, “Homesteading.” Floats, fire trucks, equestrians and other units will be among entries.
Overall event co-organizers, Robert Weldin and Sharon Wimberg, said that warm weather is the Saturday forecast.
“We’re all looking forward to a family friendly day that will include morning coffee and donuts plus a silent auction with lots of great items in the Clark Pioneer Recreation Center,” they said. All proceeds will benefit the rec center.
Even at her young age, Morgan is a longtime rodeo rider, coming from a sixth generation family with western values including cattle and sheep ranching. She qualified in 2024 for the National Little Britches Rodeo finals in three events. She is an active 4-H member and said that she “is excited to represent the Home of Champions Rodeo and Red Lodge” in Clark.
