A free, public seminar, “Practical Emergency Preparedness,” will be held on Saturday, April 18 beginning at 1 p.m. in the Bennett Creek Church Fellowship Hall in Clark. Refreshments will be provided.
Situations that will be discussed include power outages, lighting, food storage, water purification, heating and medical information. There will be practical demonstrations.
“Come with questions,” said Clark residents Larry and Barbara Dodge, who are trained and experienced in emergency preparedness. They became the Wyoming State Emergency Preparedness representatives for Aglow International in 2009 and the Great Plains Rocky Mountain Regional Emergency Preparedness coordinators in 2012.
The couple are also former members of the National Task Force for Emergency Preparedness with Aglow International, Larry noted, and he has training as a Community Emergency Response Team participant and that both are certified Basic Emergency Responders and trained responders with Crisis Response International.
Additionally, they are the founders and directors of Wyoming Prayer Network. It facilitates information on prayer initiatives across the state, said Larry. As well, they are licensed ordained chaplains and in that capacity would be able to serve communities when an emergency situation occurs.
“Our desire is to equip people to prepare themselves for emergency situations,” the couple noted. “We impart a Biblical focus for helping others in a time of crisis, reaching out to others with the love of Christ.”
