(Sept. 5, 1907 - Dec. 15, 1907) Long-time Powell resident Christena Irene Bowers, 93, died Wednesday, Feb. 7 in the Powell Nursing Home.She was born Sept. 5, 1907, in Hurdland, Mo., daughter of Charles Henry Schrage and Nina F. (Wiles) Schrage. She attended schools in Missouri.On Dec. 15, 1929, she married Everett Bowers in Hardin, Mont. The family moved to Powell in 1944. She was fond of reupholstering furniture, crocheting and sewing.Survivors include two sons, Donnie E. Bowers and wife Evelyn of Powell and Harvey J. Bowers and wife Sharon of Byron; a sister-in-law, Madderine Bowers of Hardin; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett, in 1995; three sisters; four brothers; a grandson and three step-grandchildren.
