Former Powell resident Charley L. Misner of Laurel, Mont., died Dec. 4 after a long illness. He was 74.
He was born in Lafayette, Ind., in 1932, son of Samuel and Thelma Misner. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He lost his beloved twin, Harley M. Misner, during the Korean War.
He married Charlotte A. Byers in Lafayette, Ind., on Dec. 31, 1955.
They lived in the Powell area on Lane 10 overlooking the Shoshone River from 1990-2005.
He loved the Wyoming outdoors, as he was an avid sportsman and horseman.
Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Charlotte Misner of Laurel; their five children, Lonnie Misner of Orlando, Fla., Cynthia Misner of Ray, N.D., Lisa Misner-Boehler and husband Mark of Arden Hills, Minn., Shari A. Misner of Powell and Harley L. Misner and wife LeAnn of Billings, Mont.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan Nielander of Flora, Ind.; and brothers, Tom O. Misner (Anne) of Brandenton, Fla., and Steve Misner (Bonnie) of Lafayette, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Harley; his parents; and a brother, Sam A. Misner.
Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at Smith West End Chapel in Montana on Dec. 27. Another memorial service will be in Indiana in the spring.
The family would appreciate memorials to the local cancer society.
