Longtime Powell resident Carol V. Boos, 63, died at Billings Clinic Hospital in Billings on July 2, 2011 of a sudden illness.
She was born on January 16, 1948 in Worland to George H. and Grace V. (Rhodes) Busch Jr.
Carol attended schools in Worland and graduated from Worland High School in 1966. She then attended the University of Wyoming where she graduated with a BA in Elementary Education in 1970.
Carol married Cliff A. Boos in Worland on June 28, 1970. The couple moved to Idaho in August 1970, where she was a classroom teacher in Firth, Idaho, for one year while her husband attended college at Idaho State University. She then taught school in Pocatello, Idaho for two years before the couple moved to Omak, Wash., where she taught school for five years.
In 1978 the couple moved to Powell, where she had her daughter and later began teaching again. In 1978 she started teaching third-grade at Westside Elementary School and was devoted to her job and her students.
Her hobbies included reading and sharing time with loved ones. She was a strong caregiver to family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling with her family to many places including Mexico, Hawaii and Australia.
She was a lifelong member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Worland, and got strength and comfort from her faith which she shared with others.
Preceding her in death were her father, grandparents and several uncles.
Carol is survived by her husband Cliff Boos of Powell; daughter Misty Boos of Charlottesville, Va.; mother Grace Busch of Worland; brother Gary (Val) Busch of Worland; and nephew Jesse Busch of Los Angeles. She also is survived by her dear friend and cousin Linda Emery of Powell, and by numerous other cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Worland with Dr. Ralph Partelow officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Worland. A reception for family and friends will follow back at the church.
Memorials in Carol’s name may be made to Westside Elementary School in care of Brent Walker at 532 East Madison, Powell, WY 82435 for a literary program for children. Memorials also may be made to the Crisis Center V.O.V. at 1909 Big Horn Ave., Worland, WY 82401.
