C. Wayne Lewis died Jan. 30 in Mesa, Ariz., at the age of 93.
Wayne was born May 1, 1915, in Hardtner, Kans. to Jay and Harriet (Hull) Lewis. He had one sister, Vera.
He served in the Air Force for five years during World War II as a pilot instrument instructor. On Jan. 25, 1941, he married Neva Belle Tregellas in Alva, Okla. They recently celebrated their 68th anniversary.
After his discharge from the Air Force, Wayne and Neva Belle lived in Sebastapol, Calif. In 1950, the couple homesteaded at Heart Mountain, where they farmed for many years. They were long-time members of the First Baptist Church in Powell.
Wayne loved to hunt and fish in the North Fork area. After they retired, he and Neva Belle enjoyed spending winters in Arizona and traveling to visit family in the summer.
Survivors include his wife, Neva Belle of Mesa; sons, Craig of Phoenix and Alan (Edie) of Ft.Dodge, Iowa; daughter, Raylene (Gary) of Columbus, Mont.; sister, Vera Nichols of Sebastopol, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned. A family memorial will be held at a later date.
