As the $4.93 million concrete rehabilitation project started this week along Cody’s Sheridan Avenue, the Wyoming Department of Transportation is reminding residents that all Sheridan Avenue businesses are open.
Work is continuing on the north side of Sheridan Avenue from 10th Street to 12th Street. The north side of the 10th Street and 11th Street intersections will be closed while traffic is carried — one lane in each direction — on the south side of Sheridan Avenue.
Though parking is limited inside the work zone, pedestrians are able and encouraged to use the existing sidewalks to visit businesses inside the work zone.
During work, WYDOT resident engineer Todd Frost of Cody said a maximum of two intersections may be closed at any one time.
Phase 1 of the project — 10th Street to 14th Street — is required to be complete by June 15, said Frost. The project will be shut down from June 16 through Aug. 23.
Weekly public work progress meetings are being held at 10 a.m. every Tuesday between now and June 9 at the Cody Club Room, where the prime contractor will answer questions and share a two-week schedule of upcoming work.
