Bred n Fed competition growing each year

Wyoming’s agricultural products can compete anywhere, but when those products go head-to-head in competition, things get really interesting.

That is the idea behind the Bred n Fed livestock class at Park County Fair.

The purpose is to promote and recognize the best of the best Park County agriculture has to offer.

The human competitors must be Park County residents and the animal — whether sheep, meat goat, beef animal or swine — must have been born in the county as well. Both the animals’ breeder and its exhibitor sign a form to that effect and the animal is ear-tagged as such.

The exhibitor must have purchased and cared for the animal on or before Feb. 1 for beef animals and by May 15 for sheep, goats or swine.

Awards will be made at the Junior Livestock Sale July 31 to the owner and the breeder of the champion and reserve champion in each species.
