In their latest diatribe to the Powell Tribune, Bob and Linda Graff managed to get one thing correct — this midterm election IS about Donald Trump. Sane, informed Americans realize this, which explains why polls overwhelmingly indicate a blue wave coming.

The Graffs make a heinous accusation — that Democrats hate America. Nothing is further from the truth. Maybe, just maybe, Democrats refuse to stand by like good Germans and watch Donald Trump desecrate and diminish our country any further. Maybe Democrats see clearly where Trump has led us — to another unending war, to higher prices, to cruel mass deportations, to unmatched corruption and to bitter civil unrest. Maybe Democrats clearly see what this toxic stew of disinformation and fear mongering have done to our country, and they are the only ones with the integrity and moral courage to call him on it.

The facts speak for themselves. Trump has used this country to enrich himself, his family, and his billionaire buddies. According to Forbes, Trump’s net worth has increased by an estimated $2.7 billion since taking office in 2024. His sons’ combined net worth has increased by an estimated $720 million. Elon Musk has become a trillionaire. Trump has leveraged his presidency for personal gain in illegal and unethical ways. What have American citizens gained? Nothing but broken promises and pain.

In 2024, Trump promised to end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours. Hasn’t happened. He promised to slash energy and electricity bills by half. Hasn’t happened. He promised to lower the cost of groceries, housing and medical care. Hasn’t happened. He promised no new wars. Didn’t happen.

Rather than addressing issues that made life more manageable for Americans, Trump has only sown chaos and pushed policies that have hurt hard working American families. Our grandchildren will be working to pay off the $40.41 trillion national debt he has already racked up.

I hate to break it to the Graffs, but they really need to turn off their propaganda TV channels and do some honest research. Democrats do not advocate killing babies as they are born, nor do they advocate mutilating children or sex trafficking them. (Might want to read what has been released in the Epstein files, where Donald Trump is mentioned 38,000 times.) Democrats do not want open borders, nor do they advocate defunding the police or closing prisons. Maybe Bob and Linda need to take some time and actually read the Democratic Party platform instead of getting information from internet rabbit holes and TV shows that have paid hundreds of millions of dollars for lying to their viewers.

I have come to this conclusion: Trump supporters will go down fighting anything that challenges their narrow world view. Fortunately, many Americans have wised up to Donald Trump’s incompetence, dishonesty and blatant corruption. He has not governed this country for the good of all. He has run it as a hostile takeover. Donald Trump has abused and defiled the American presidency, and good Americans have had enough. Yes, Trump is on the ballot this year. Voting against Trump and his corrupt, spineless party will be the most patriotic thing voters have ever done.
