Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at First Baptist Church for a life-long resident of Powell, Betty Ruth Osborne, who died Thursday, July 19 at the Powell Hospital. She was 77.

(Aug. 9, 1923 - July 19, 2001) Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at First Baptist Church for a life-long resident of Powell, Betty Ruth Osborne, who died Thursday, July 19 at the Powell Hospital. She was 77.Pastor Jesse Sauskojus officiated at services and burial in Crown Hill Cemetery.She was born Aug. 9, 1923, at Powell, daughter of Glen and Thelma (Baird) Sheets. She attended Powell schools, graduating from Powell High School in 1941.She lived in Powell all her life and worked as a bookkeeper/accountant. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, bridge, golf and music.Pallbearers at the funeral were Clay Miller, Frank Winz, Dennis Gormley, Scott Gormley, Rick Guthrie, Floyd Osborn and Darrell Anderson.Survivors include a sister, Beth Wollam of Powell; four nephews and nieces and numerous cousins and great nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents.
