Bettienna “Betty” Kinder (Tamlin) of Cody passed away on Friday, May 22, at the age of 74.

Betty was born on June 16, 1945, the first of four children, to the late Phillip and Pauline (Dunn) Tamlin. She grew up in Powell and graduated from Powell High School in 1962.

To know Betty was to love her. Her door was always open, the coffee pot always on and she made everyone who entered her life feel welcome. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed simple pleasures. Her smile could light up a room, and her laugh was infectious. Betty had many talents and could accomplish anything she set her mind to. She had a passion for creating and loved being surrounded by family and friends. Her career path spanned bartending, mentoring at-risk youth, providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities and managing restaurants, to owning and operating her own business.

Betty is predeceased by her parents, Phillip and Pauline Tamlin, her sister Burnadette (Michael) Burke, and her brothers, Lynn and Wayne Tamlin.

She is survived by her four children, Kelly Johnson of Cody, Todd Johnson of Gillette, Betty Smith of Cody, and Corrinda (Nick) Burke of Powell, 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren (with another on the way)!

They invite you to join them at her service this Friday, June 5, at 2 p.m., at Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell. The service will also be live streamed on the Thompson Funeral Home Facebook page.
