Cody Country Art League has released its fall class schedule with offerings for the beginner as well as the more advanced artist.
The fall lineup is in partnership with the Buffalo Bill Art Show and Sale.
It includes a master’s class in oil painting with M.C. Poulsen, a fixture at the show and sale. Students are encouraged to bring a piece they are working on or ideas for what they want to start painting. Poulsen will offer his expert instuction on applicable techniques as well as potential methods, based on the participating artist’s project.
This class is 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23 and 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. Cost is $150 for non-members and $135 for members. Space is limited.
Cody artist Melody Christensen is offering a fall watercolor class, too. It will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Oct. 22 and Oct. 29, the last two Thursdays of the month, focusing on the essential methods watercolorists need to know. Cost for the two days is $75.
John Giarrizzo will teach Introduction to Life Drawing. Giarrizzo is an accomplished painter and a retired Northwest College professor of art. This class is scheduled fom 6-9 p.m. Nov. 5 for a cost of $45. It will focus on how best to portray live models on paper. If there is sufficient interest, a monthly studio class will be offered on a regular basis.
Another CCAL award winning artist, Ron Rogers of Worland,will teach “It’s All About Color,” a fundamental class. He said “It goes beyond traditional color theory into practical applications.” This class will be held from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7. The cost is $95 and all mediums are welcome.
Other planned classes include watercolor holiday cards and quiche with Dolly Frerichs-Stuber; stained glass, alcohol inks and mosaics with Suzie Warner; holiday floral arrangements with Lorri Long; ornament making with Paige Bacon; and introduction/continuation of silk painting with Jody Horvath.
