Dear editor:
A recent contributor to Letters to the Editor in the Sept. 22 issue of the Tribune suggests that a “Vote for Republicans is a vote for Trump.” We couldn’t agree more.
On the other hand, listening to the Democrats we are told how much they hate Trump and this country. Apparently because they want to “fundamentally change” it as Obama said he would do. While the majority of the population would love to see required ID to vote, our elected officials won’t vote for it because it is Trump’s idea and it will keep them from winning elections. How is that representing anyone but themselves?
What we hear from the Democratic Party is: Babies can be aborted/killed as they are being born. Children can be mutilated with or without their parents’ consent. Children can be indoctrinated in schools to change their sex or to hate other people or themselves because they are white. Children can be trafficked into the sex trade or some other slavery. The Democratic Party does not care if they are rescued. They also want open borders. Are you voting for these atrocities?
The Democratic Party wants to give everyone “Medicare for all” which means that all of us who have paid our dues will lose what we presently have. Taxes will go up and our medical care will go the way of Canada and the UK. In other words, almost nonexistent or assisted suicide will become the norm for solving problems.
We also hear that rapists, murderers and child molesters should not be in prison. Excuse: They have had a rough life, please forgive them. Once out, they do it all over again. Does it matter to you that so many people have lost their lives to these repeat offenders or illegals? It’s a long list. Do these names ring any bells: Laken Riley, Jocelyn Nungarary, Kate Steinle, Iryna Zandutska?
The scariest part of all of this is the Democratic Socialists. Whether you, as a Democrat agree with their platforms or not, you and the people you vote for are allowing them to have a voice. Are you listening? They want to shut down prisons and defund our police. They will, however, arrest those who disagree with them. This is stated on their website. Sounds like Hitler, Stalin and China, doesn’t it?
Yes, you may vote for anyone you want to vote for, but you may well be voting for someone who hates this country or supports someone who hates country and you might not know it until it is too late. Wyoming is vulnerable as much as any other state. Give the haters an inch and they will take acres. As in China.
While we don’t agree with all the Republican Platform, we sure don’t want the likes of Gavin Newsom, Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, El-Sayed, Piker, Talarico, et al. running any part of this country. Don’t vote against Trump because you hate him or his personality. Vote for the man who has kept his promises. Promises that many earlier presidents have made and failed to fulfill either because they couldn’t make them work or because they never intended to fulfill them in the first place. Yes, a vote for Republicans is a vote for Trump. A man who has proven he loves this country in spite of what you are being told.
You may look all this up if you are so inclined but perhaps what you ought to do is listen to the people who are running for office and make your decision accordingly. There is so much out there that needs everyone’s attention.
This November vote like your life depends on it, because it does.
Respectfully,
Linda and Bob Graff
