CODY — The Cody Library will host Park County Archivist Robyn Cutter for a presentation on Wyoming’s real life connection to the Marlboro Man on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Grizzly Hall.
The program will feature a 25-minute film, “The Marlboro Story,” followed by a discussion led by Cutter. The presentation will explore the history of Darrell Winfield, the Wyoming rancher who portrayed the Marlboro Man for more than two decades and became one of the most iconic advertising figures of the 20th century. Cutter will also highlight Winfield’s ties to Park County and the broader Wyoming community.
In addition, the program will address the cigarette tax and its lasting impact on Cody and Park County.
Robyn Cutter has served as the archivist for the Park County Archives since 2016. She holds a master’s degree in historic preservation from Middle Tennessee State University and has extensive experience in downtown revitalization, historic documentation and digital preservation. Since moving to Cody in 2002, she has worked for the McCracken Research Library, operated a photo digitization business, and now works full-time preserving the history of Park County.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Park County Archives at 307-527-8530.
