Funeral Mass will be celebrated today (Tuesday) at 10 a.m. at St. Barbara's Catholic Church in Powell for Anna Louise Kasinger, 87, who died Wednesday, Dec. 10 at Powell Valley Care Center.
Father Pete Johnson will officiate at services and burial in Crown Hill Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 30, 1916, to Otto and Katherine (Ganz) Retzer. She completed a high school education and married Paul Kasinger Nov. 19, 1935.
They moved from Illinois to Powell in 1946 and have lived in Powell ever since. She was a homemaker and a member of Willwood Women's Club for over 50 years.
She was a lifelong gardener and a past superintendent of horticulture exhibits at the Park County Fair. She was recipient of numerous ribbons and awards for her needlework and agronomy entries at the fair over the years.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Kasinger, of Powell; two sons, Donald (Donna) Kasinger of Sheridan, Ore., and Dale (Billie) Kasinger of Powell; a daughter Vicki (Tim) Huxtable of Dublin, Calif.; three brothers, Robert (Ione) Retzer of Kansas City, Mo., Joseph (Annie) Retzer of Jerseyville, Ill., and Gene (Nona) Retzer of Peoria, Ill.; five sisters, Mary (Don) Lonergan of Jacksonville, Ill., Teresa Adams of Paris, Ill., Bert Follis of Illinois, Helena (Harold) Roth of Michael, Ill., and Marty of Herrin, Ill.; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Kay; and three brothers, Otto, Jr., Ed and Frank.
