Angela Dawn Gesner, 58, of Cody, Wyoming, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Aug. 12, 2025, after a courageous battle with glioblastoma.

She was born in Monte Vista, Colorado, on July 31, 1967 to Kenneth and Terry Wood. The family moved to Cody in 1974. She graduated from Cody High in 1985, attended Northwest Community College, and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Colorado. She worked for various companies, churches and small businesses before finding a new calling in massage therapy.

In 1999, Angie married Nathan Gesner, an Oregon native, and together they built a life rooted in love, faith and service. They adopted and raised three children: Jeremy, Nevaeh, and Antonia. After Nathan retired from military service, they returned to Cody and purchased American West Realty and Management, where Angie faithfully served in multiple roles, including accountant, receptionist and sales agent.

Music was the heartbeat of Angie’s life. A gifted classical pianist and vocalist, she possessed a clear, steady voice that could harmonize with anything — and she played a mean tambourine. For more than 25 years, she served in the music ministry of several churches. She once attended a church with only a piano (boring!), prompted Nathan to teach her guitar, and three months later was leading worship like a pro.

Angie’s Christian faith was evident in the way she lived — raising her children, serving her church, and pouring into her community. She served in different capacities with several churches, Serenity Pregnancy Resource Center, a medical mission to Haiti, and the Cody Cupboard.

Angie was a bright mind, always up for a challenge. She would never pass up the opportunity to teach someone a lesson at Scrabble, Cribbage, Pinochle, multi-handed Solitaire, or whatever else was available. She enjoyed crosswords, picture puzzles, painting, furniture restoration, crochet and more. She approached life with creativity, curiosity and joy.

Angie is survived by her husband, Nathan; their children Jeremy, Nevaeh and Antonia; her mother Terry Wood; and her siblings Pamela Wood, Leslie Wood, Kevin Wood and Erin Hazel. She was preceded in death by her father Kenneth Wood.

Her wish was to be cremated, with her ashes scattered at one of her favorite places. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Serenity Pregnancy Resource Center. A casual celebration of life will be held at Cody Alliance Church on Friday, Sept, 5, at 2 p.m.
