Funeral services took place Wednesday, March 10 at Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell for Alice Pearl Paul Gifford, 73, who died at her Powell home on Saturday, March 6.
She was born at her childhood home in Garland on March 3, 1931, the daughter of Earl and Mildred Paul.
She married Jesse James Gifford Jr. on Aug. 10, 1951, in Billings. They were married for 50 years until his death on May 12, 2002.
In addition to being an exceptional homemaker, she drove the school bus and worked in the cafeteria for the Lovell School District. She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, crocheting and other craft work, as well as reading. Her favorite pastime was being with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Gifford (Denice) of Basin and Todd Gifford of Casper; two daughters, Cathy Engelking (Kerry) of Casper and Penny Gifford of Powell; eight grandchildren, Valerie Gifford (Jason Caldwell) of Akiachak, Alaska., Eric Gifford (Kim) of Leavenworth, Kan., Beth Engelking of Ft. Collins, Colo., Lee Engelking of Casper, Megan Gifford of Coosbay, Ore., Luc Engelking of Casper, Kim Gifford of Casper and Josh Gifford of Powell; one great-granddaughter, Jessica Moore Gifford of Leavenworth, Kan.; two brothers, Archie Harvard and Ernie Paul; and five sisters, Ione Parkhurst, Jean Humphreys, Claire Fraatz, Dorothy Boyd and Rae Leslie.
Burial was in the Lovell Cemetery.
