Alice Evelyne (Denny) Campbell, 97, died Sept. 25 at her home near Grandview, Texas.
She was born and spent some of her early years in Bevier, Mo. She also lived in several gold mining towns in California. In her early teens, she moved to Wyoming, locating at Hanna with her stepfather, Joe Denny.
She graduated from Hanna High School in 1929. On April 22, 1932, she married James Campbell. Together they raised three children and lived in Hanna until the mid-1950s, leaving when the Union Pacific mines closed. She and her husband lived in Phoenix, Ariz., until his death in 1982. She then moved to San Antonio, Texas near her daughters and eventually lived with her daughters near Grandview, Texas. She is survived by family in Wyoming and Texas.
Survivors in Wyoming are her son, James D. “Dave” Campbell (Marianne) who formerly lived in Sinclair, now living in Powell; granddaughters Denise Kobbe (Rod), and Tracey Lujan of Powell; great-granddaughters Kirsten Akin (Allen) of Cowley, and Brittany Kobbe of Powell; great-grandsons Joseph and Anthony Lujan of Powell and great-great granddaughter Haylee Akin of Cowley.
Survivors in Grandview, Texas are her daughters Lorraine Robb (husband Dave deceased) and Dorothy Ann Walkin (husband Tom deceased), three grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and family graveside services will take place at a later date.
