Mac Barnett, the bestselling children’s author and current National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, will appear at a free, family event in Cody on Monday evening.
Barnett will talk about picture books and meet readers from 6-7 p.m. at the Park County Library.
Barnett is the author of more than 70 award-winning books and stories for children, including "Twenty Questions," "Sam & Dave Dig a Hole" and "Extra Yarn", as well as "The First Cat in Space" graphic novels and "The Shapes Trilogy" picture books.
The Library of Congress named Barnett as the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature for 2025-26 and Cody is one of just five communities selected for official visits.
“We couldn’t be more excited!” said Park County Library Children’s Services Director Holly Baker.
Monday’s event will be held at the library’s Grizzly Hall, with additional space set aside for spillover seating.
