What were members of the Powell High School Class of 1968 doing at the 70th class reunion of the Class of 1949 on Friday night? Party crashing?
It wasn’t at all sinister. They came with a birthday cake, after all.
It was a “70th and a 70th” that the Class of 1968 wanted to recognize, and four ’68-ers showed up at the Eagles Club to deliver “sort of birthday greetings” to the Class of 1949.
Gerry Wilkins of Billings, Peggy Hawley and Sharon Jordan of Powell and Rick Haskins of Arizona shared a moment with their 1949 counterparts prior to the 49-ers reunion dinner. This is the year in which members of the Class of 1968 are turning 70 years old.
“We just wanted to recognize you at your 70th reunion,” said Wilkins. “We considered you as the pillars of the community when we were growing up.”
