Two huge innings helped push the Powell Pioneers past the Lovell Mustangs on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in an 11-7 victory in the state tournament consolation bracket.
Lovell took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, but a six run second inning launched the Pioneers ahead.
Lovell chipped away at the lead over the next four innings, tying the contest in the fifth inning 6-6.
Another offensive explosion in the sixth inning gave Powell an 11-6 lead, and minimal damage in the sixth and seventh innings helped the Pioneers secure the 11-7 victory.
The Pioneers will now take on Cody at 5 p.m. today (Thursday) in another elimination game.
If Powell wins, they will play Friday (tomorrow) at 11 a.m.
