There’s a lot to quack about with the Powell Tribune’s Christmas holiday shopping promotion, which kicks off in today’s edition.
Free, two-minute shopping sprees at Blair’s Super Market and Mr. D’s Food Center are the grand prizes in the Holiday Rubber Duck Derby, brought to you by the Powell Tribune and participating businesses. Additional $100 value prizes and gift certificates will be awarded at each participating business.
The peel-off entry form on the front page of today’s Tribune introduces the holiday promotion. No purchase is necessary. People can enter by simply filling out the entry form and depositing it in a Rubber Duck Derby box at any participating business. The peel-off form will appear in the newspaper two more times.
The winner of a $100 prize or gift certificate will be drawn at each business location on Thursday, Dec. 19, and those winners will be entered in the Holiday Rubber Duck Derby on Friday, Dec. 20 at the Powell Aquatic Center.
There’s another twist, too, to provide more opportunities for the major prizes: Each location will draw additional names to fill out the derby racing field.
The top two rubber ducks across the finish line in the Dec. 20 derby will produce the two shopping spree winners, while the third place duck will win $250 in Powell Bucks donated by the Powell Tribune. The supermarket shopping sprees will take place on Saturday, Dec. 21.
No-purchase-necessary entry forms can be turned into any participating location between now and Dec. 19. A list of businesses taking part can be found in the Rubber Duck Derby promotional ad on Page 12.
