CODY — The Park County Travel Council is using a new public relations firm led by a Cody native. Recently PCTC announced the selection of B Public Relations (BPR) as its new public relations agency of record. The appointment follows a rigorous selection process and the retirement of the Council's long-standing PR partner of 21 years, Mesereau Travel Public Relations.
“This was a highly competitive, multi-month process with nine participants from across the country, multiple rounds of interviews and extensive work to showcase experience, strategic thinking, and overall alignment with the Cody Yellowstone brand. The B Public Relations team demonstrated that they are not only passionate about their work and our destination, but their enthusiasm and excitement for delivering results was evident in every interaction. We look forward to our partnership,” said Michael Wambolt, Park County Travel Council executive director.
B Public Relations is a boutique, integrated communications agency specializing in hospitality and tourism public relations. After more than 15 years in business, the firm provides impactful results for destinations, hotels, resorts and food and beverage-focused clients across the country, with destination clients including Go Lake Havasu, Arizona.; Snowmass, Colorado.; Visit Dana Point, California, The Town of Frisco, Colorado, and others. The award-winning agency, with team members in Denver, Austin, Chicago, Casper and several other hubs across the country, is composed of a team of 20 specialists and led by founder and CEO Jordan Blakesley, a Cody native.
“I was born and raised in Park County, working in hospitality and tourism since I started bussing tables at a local hotel and restaurant at age 14. Now, after more than two decades in destination public relations, it’s an honor to have the opportunity to represent my hometown — a place my family still resides, and one I visit so often,” said Blakesley. “Our team is so excited to work with Michael, Katrina, Amanda and the Park County Travel Council Board to tell the many interesting and surprising stories of this unique destination that is so close to my heart.”
The selection process began with an open request for proposals for public relations services. From there, qualified applications were narrowed down by the selection committee, which was comprised of Park County Travel Council board members, local business owners, regional partners, and more. The committee conducted two rounds of interviews with the candidates, with presentations, question-and-answer opportunities and work samples. The selection was made based on final voting from the selection committee.
BPR will take over the Mesereau’s work promoting the vast experiences Park County offers with traditional media and creators, with the goal of ongoing, positive tourism-focused coverage in national and regional travel and lifestyle outlets. The team will also manage the brand’s blog and content calendar, while supporting crisis communications and influencer relations.
