The Powell Aquatic Center (PAC) will host its annual PAC Triathlon on Saturday, May 27.
The event will kick off with a 500-yard swim in the PAC — equivalent to 20 lengths of the pool. Lap counters will be available for the swimmers.
After the swimming portion, athletes will head out on a 15.5 mile bike ride to the Elk Basin Highway turnaround and back before starting the final portion of the triathlon. A helmet is required for the biking portion of the race.
Ending the triathlon will be a 5k down Seventh Street to the Grand Street intersection and back to Homesteader Court.
PAC co-director Tanya Bonner said that registration for the event is down so far this year, but there is still time to register.
Registration goes through Sunday, May 21 and costs $35 for a solo competitor and $65 for a team.
A registration form can be found on powellaquatics.com along with additional information for the event.
